The federal government increased the petrol and diesel prices for the next fortnight, starting from January 1 (Wednesday).
According to details, the price of petrol increased by 0.56 paisa per litre while high-speed diesel rates rose by 2.96 per litre following the latest price revision.
The Ministry of Finance issued a notification for the updated fuel prices, which came into effect immediately.
The adjustment aimed to balance costs amid fluctuating international oil markets and domestic economic conditions.
Petrol prices were set at 252.66 per litre, while high-speed diesel rates reached 258.34 per litre.
On December 16, the government decided to maintain the price of petrol at Rs252.10 per litre.

According to details, a notification was issued confirming that there will be no change in the petrol rate.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel had decreased by Rs3.05 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs255.38. The cost of kerosene also reduced by Rs3.32 per litre, with the new price set at Rs161.66.
Additionally, the price of light diesel had dropped by Rs2.78, bringing it to Rs148.95 per litre.
