Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has directed private schools to relax their uniform policies in a bid to safeguard students from the chilly winter weather.
Following his instructions, the Directorate of Private Institutions issued a circular to private schools emphasizing the need for practical measures to relax rules for students' uniforms to ensure their health during the cold season.
Rafia Javed, the additional director of the directorate, highlighted the importance of cooperation from schools in protecting students from harsh weather conditions.
“Students should be allowed to wear warm clothing during winter days, even if it doesn’t align with their prescribed uniforms,” she stated.
The circular further urged schools to implement all possible measures to shield students from the cold within classrooms. Schools have been encouraged to adopt additional precautions, including ensuring warm indoor environments, to minimize the impact of the cold weather on children's health.
