Cold weather swept over Quetta and most areas of Northern Balochistan, with temperatures plummeting to freezing levels.
According to details, in Ziarat, the temperature dropped three degrees below freezing point, while in Kalat, it reached minus two degrees Celsius. Quetta recorded a temperature of minus one degree Celsius.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the intensity of the cold weather would remain in Northern Balochistan from December 7 to 9.
Areas like Gwadar, Awaran, Kech, and Panjgur would also experience strong winds, along with regions including Washuk, Kharan, Chagai, Surab, Kalat, Bolan, and Mastung, where strong winds were expected.
Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Zhob, Qilla Saifullah, and surrounding areas would witness dust storms and strong winds.
Authorities warned that these winds could create conditions similar to sandstorms, and temperatures in some areas could drop between minus three and minus five degrees Celsius.
Additionally, strong winds were forecasted for coastal areas.
The PMD recorded a minimum temperature of minus three degrees Celsius in Ziarat. Kalat had minus two degrees, while Quetta recorded minus one degree Celsius.
Nokundi recorded six degrees, and Barkhan had eight degrees Celsius.
The officials urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel during this period due to the adverse weather conditions.
