Sub-Inspector Muhammad Irshad Siddiqui was injured during the violent protests that took place from November 24 to 26, amid PTI demonstrations. Siddiqui was on duty at the Tower Hill Point on the motorway when the protests escalated.
Siddiqui described that, on November 24, protesters attempted to break through barricades, leading to clashes with law enforcement. "We attempted to control the situation peacefully until November 25," he said. "However, armed individuals attacked us with gunfire and set nearby trees on fire."
During the chaos, Station House Officer (SHO) Tahir Iqbal was taken hostage by the protesters and subjected to violence. Siddiqui mentioned that while attempting to rescue the SHO, he was struck in the head by a stone and lost consciousness.
Siddiqui sustained a serious head injury but has since recovered and is preparing to return to his duties. His account highlights the violence faced by police officers during the protests, resulting in injuries to several security personnel.
