Pakistan Army, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), has laid the foundation stone for a new Roller Health Center in Neelum Valley on October 30, 2024. The initiative addresses the long-standing healthcare accessibility challenges faced by local residents in the remote Kashmir region.
Prior to this development, inhabitants of the area were required to undertake an 11-hour journey on foot to reach medical facilities in Keil, particularly challenging during winter months when snowfall frequently blocks access routes. The situation had resulted in numerous casualties during medical emergencies.
The establishment of the healthcare facility is expected to significantly improve medical services in the region, where basic infrastructure remains limited. Local community members have expressed appreciation for the joint effort by the Pakistan Army and WHO to enhance healthcare accessibility in the area.
