England's white-ball captain Jos Buttler is set to make his comeback from injury as he leads the team for their upcoming tour of the West Indies.
The 14-man squad, announced by selectors on Wednesday, includes three uncapped players and will compete in three one-day internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 (T20) matches, spanning across Antigua, Barbados, and St Lucia.
Buttler has been out of action since June, missing recent series against Australia due to a calf injury. England managed to draw the T20 series 1-1 but lost the ODI series 3-2 to the reigning world champions. Buttler, a pivotal figure in England's 2019 World Cup-winning side, remains one of the most dangerous batters in white-ball cricket.
The squad will see Yorkshire's leg-spinner Jafer Chohan earn his first England call-up, alongside uncapped players John Turner and Dan Mousley. Chohan expressed his excitement, calling his selection "a dream" and noting his unique bowling style. "I feel confident in my game and love to express myself through my bowling," said the 22-year-old.
The squad may be supplemented by two additional players from England's Test team, currently in Pakistan. A decision on their inclusion will be made after the third Test in Rawalpindi, starting October 24.
Harry Brook, who captained the ODI series against Australia in Buttler's absence, delivered a stellar performance, topping the run charts with 312 runs at an average of 78.
The tour begins with the first ODI in Antigua, while the T20 series will kick off in Barbados on November 9 and conclude in St Lucia on November 17.
