Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed departments to remain on high alert in the wake of potential urban flooding across the province.
With heavy rains expected, the Chief Minister has specifically instructed the administration in Dera Ghazi Khan to remain vigilant due to the risk of floods and landslides in the Mount Sulaiman region.
Punjab's chief executive has emphasized the importance of swift action to ensure the rapid drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas, particularly in major cities like Lahore. She has directed that all available resources be mobilized to manage the situation effectively.
The CM has called on the district administration, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Rescue 1122, and other relevant organizations to be fully prepared for any emergency scenarios that may arise.
Traffic wardens have also been instructed to be on duty to maintain traffic flow during the expected heavy rains.
