In honour of the annual Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri, also known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, the Lahore High Court has declared a holiday for courts on August 26.
The notification was issued following the approval of Acting Chief Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh.
According to the official notification, both session courts and civil courts in Lahore will also remain closed on August 26. The decision has been made to facilitate the annual commemoration of one of the most revered saints in Pakistan.
The Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri is a significant religious event that draws thousands of devotees to Lahore each year, as they gather to pay homage to the saint, widely known for his spiritual influence and teachings.
The closure of courts will allow individuals to participate in the religious observance without the hindrance of legal proceedings.
