Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan accepted on Thursday resignation of PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ayub announced, "I am most grateful to PM Imran Khan sahib for accepting my resignation as Secretary General PTI to focus on my role as Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan."
The resignation letter, dated June 22, 2024, was directed to Imran Khan and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
Senator Shibli Faraz, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, conveyed Ayub’s resignation to Imran Khan during a meeting at Adyala Jail, he added.
"There will be further changes made in the organisational structure of PTI in the coming days as directed by PM Imran Khan sahib," Ayub mentioned in his post.
He expressed his gratitude to the PTI family, parliamentarians, and Tanzeem office holders for their relentless efforts and dedication to the party and its leadership.
