England is the first team to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals after defeating the United States by 10 wickets in their most recent Super 8 match on Sunday at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Jos Buttler and Phil Salt knocked down the 116-run total in 9.4 overs without losing a single wicket, as the English duo annihilated all of the USA spinners.
Buttler blasted 83 off 38 deliveries, including six fours and seven sixes, and USA's Harmeet Singh hit five maximums in succession in the ninth over.
England was the last team to qualify for the Super 8, yet they were the first to reach the tournament's semi-finals.
Earlier in the first innings, English bowlers overpowered their opponents, limiting the USA team to 115 runs in 18.5 overs.
Chris Jordan took four wickets in the 19th over, including a superb hat-trick, becoming only the second bowler after Australia's Pat Cummins to do it in the T20 World Cup 2024.
English bowlers outclassed the USA batsmen from the start, taking wickets at regular intervals.
Only Nitish Kumar (30 off 24), Corey Anderson (29 off 28), and Harmeet Singh (21 off 17) provided key runs for the batting side, while captain Aaron Jones could only manage 10 runs after facing 16 deliveries.
Jordan took four wickets, Sam Curran and Adil Rashid two apiece, and Liam Livingstone and Reece Topley one each.
