President Asif Ali Zardari has called for bolstering the capabilities of security agencies to improve law and order in Balochistan.
Presiding over a meeting in Gwadar focused on the province’s security, he underscored the need for appointing skilled police officers to effectively combat terrorism.
During the meeting, the President was briefed on the positive impact of recent actions by law enforcement agencies. The briefing highlighted ongoing provincial government efforts to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals and other foreigners.
Mr Zardari commended the provincial government and law enforcement agencies for their dedication and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
He emphasized the necessity of enhancing the prosecution system to ensure that terrorists are adequately punished.
Moreover, President Zardari advocated for increasing compensation for the families of law enforcement personnel who have lost their lives in Balochistan, aligning it with the compensation provided in other provinces.
He also stressed the importance of imparting vocational skills to the people of Balochistan and promoting sustainable development in the fishing sector, aiming to improve local livelihoods and economic stability.
