Muzaffarabad High Court Chief Justice Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja approved the post-arrest bail of poet Ahmed Farhad against surety bonds of Rs0.2 million.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice of Muzaffarabad High Court remarked Ahmed Farhad had to suffer the punishment due to the corruption of the judicial system.
“Today's era judges also look at the media like the politicians to see if the news is on the media or not. An impression is given that the judicial system of Azad Kashmir is ridiculous. Azad Kashmir is a small state and we have our judicial system,” he remarked.
Chief Justice of the Muzaffarabad High Court pointed out the wife of poet Ahmed Farhad and remarked: "Tell your husband that he should indeed express his feelings through his poetry."
“Ahmed Farhad should only write poetry, not journalism,” warned CJ Muzaffarabad High Court.
Earlier, Azad Jammu and Kashmir police had stated that Kashmiri poet Ahmed Farhad was arrested at Kohala checkpost on Wednesday. He was subsequently transferred to the Dhirkot police station, where a case has been registered against him.
According to the police complaint, Farhad was apprehended for allegedly misbehaving with the police officials deputed at the checkpost and interfering in government affairs. Farhad, when questioned, stated that he was en route to Bagh from Islamabad at the time of his arrest.
The police assert that Farhad's actions constituted interference in official operations, leading to his detention and the subsequent filing of charges against him at Dhirkot police station.
