In a significant milestone for Pakistan's film industry, the 3D animated feature film "The Chronicles of Umro Ayyar" is set to be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Produced by Pakistan's leading 3D production house, Ingenuity Productions, the film will be presented at the Cannes Film Market by Marche Du Film through Cinando, the B2B on-demand service.
Haris Basharat, Chief Executive Officer of Ingenuity Productions, expressed his elation, stating that the 77th Cannes Film Festival in Paris marks an important achievement for Pakistan's burgeoning film sector.
The film, described as an adventure concept, draws inspiration from the classic tale Talisman-e-Hosh Ruba. It follows the legendary hero Umar Ayyar on his thrilling journeys through magical realms and challenging situations.
Alongside its imaginative narrative, the film incorporates a deeper theme that resonates with audiences of all ages.
In addition to "The Chronicles of Umro Ayyar," Ingenuity Productions is also developing a 3D animated series titled "Science Voyagers." This series chronicles the adventures of a curious boy who travels through time to meet some of history's greatest scientists.
The inclusion of "The Chronicles of Umro Ayyar" at Cannes underscores the growing capabilities and international recognition of Pakistan's animation industry.
