National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said on Thursday that May 9 will be remembered as the darkest day in the history of the country.
Condemning the events that transpired on May 9 last year, Sadiq said: "The enraged group had attacked the military installations."
Sadiq said: "The attack was an attempt to weaken the institutions and challenge the writ of the state."
He said: "The violent activities under the guise of the protest cannot be tolerated."
"The attempts to weaken the country are unacceptable at any cost. For the sake of achieving the nefarious motives, one party and a person had harmed the country," Sadiq said.
