The government has decided to continue the Prime Minister's relief package on utility stores after the end of Ramadan package on utility stores.
According to officials, under the Prime Minister's Relief Package, subsidy on 5 basic commodities will be maintained, sugar, flour, ghee, pulses and rice will be subsidized to BISP users.
Under the Prime Minister's relief package, a monthly subsidy of about 3 billion rupees will be given.
BISP users may purchase sugar at utility stores for 109 rupees per kg, and they can get a bag of 10kg of wheat for 648 rupees. For BISP users, the cost of ghee per kilogram at 393 rupees.
As part of the package, BISP consumers will receive a 25 rupee subsidy per kilogram of rice and pulses. Utility retailers plan to continue the Prime Minister package till June 2024; the federal government will decide whether to continue it for the next fiscal year.
