The driver and assistant driver suffered injuries as the Rehman Baba Express, coming from Peshawar, derailed near Faisalabad on Sunday.
The Rahman Baba Express was en route from Peshawar to Lahore when it collided with a tractor trolley near Faisalabad, causing severe damage to the train's engine and leaving the driver and assistant driver critically injured.
According to initial reports from headquarters, the driver and assistant driver were trapped in the wrecked engine, but they were successfully rescued by villagers from nearby settlements.
According to the Railways spokesperson, the train will be restored to service within half an hour, and all passengers remained safe during the incident.
Railways officials and medical personnel were present at the scene, and the condition of the injured train driver and assistant was now stable.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Railways chief executive officer has formed an inquiry committee comprising three officers of Grade 20, which will submit its initial report to the CEO within 24 hours.
