Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, stressed the importance of showing solidarity with Palestine, stating that it deeply resonates within the hearts and souls of Pakistanis.
He spoke to the media at Grand Jamia Masjid Bahria Town, urging an end to the persecution faced by Palestinians and calling for international support for their cause.
Ashrafi expressed concern over the dire situation in Palestine, highlighting the lack of access to basic necessities for Palestinian children, while arms are readily supplied to Israel. He also addressed recent incidents, such as a controversial flag-raising at Haram Sharif, emphasizing the sanctity of the holy site and urging against any political activities there.
In a show of solidarity, Ashrafi encouraged individuals to extend support to the deserving in secret during Eid celebrations. He passionately stated that Pakistanis would truly celebrate Eid when both Kashmir and Palestine achieve freedom from oppression.
Looking ahead, Ashrafi called for continued prayers for Palestine, inviting believers to join in solidarity at Al-Aqsa Mosque the following Friday. He urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take a decisive stance to resolve the Palestinian issue.
Furthermore, Ashrafi announced that even after Eid, relief materials would be dispatched from Pakistan to support the Palestinian people, reflecting the nation's unwavering commitment to their cause.
