Nice missed the opportunity to secure the third position in Ligue 1 as Toulouse mounted a comeback, defeating them 2-1 at home on Sunday.
Terem Moffi provided an early lead for Nice by scoring in the eighth minute, beating Guillaume Restes.
Despite Nice's initial advantage, Toulouse, coming off victories against Monaco and Lille in their previous Ligue 1 matches, gained momentum in the second half. Two quick goals reversed the course of the game for the home team.
In the 65th minute, Romain Perraud failed to intercept a pass to the right wing intended for Warren Kamanzi. Kamanzi's cross found Thijs Dallinga, who headed in his ninth goal of the season, marking his fourth in the last five matches.
Just four minutes later, the 23-year-old Dutch striker turned provider, setting up Yann Gboho. Gboho skillfully navigated past Pablo Rosario before smashing the ball past Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, reaching the roof of the net despite Bulka's fingertips on the ball.
With this victory, Toulouse climbed to the tenth position, surpassing Lyon, who hosted Lens later on Sunday. Nice, on the other hand, remained in fifth place, missing the chance to surpass Monaco and Lille.
This defeat marked the first time Nice lost a game after holding a lead since May 2022 against Lille, ending a run of 30 matches. Despite the draw between Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco on Friday, PSG maintained their position at the top of the table.
Brest, currently in second place, has an opportunity to narrow the gap to eight points if they secure a victory against Le Havre on Sunday.
