Abdul Khaliq has been elected unopposed as the speaker of the Balochistan Assembly on Thursday.
Gazala Gola has been elected as deputy speaker of the Balochistan Assembly. Both administered oath as speaker and deputy speaker of the Balochisan Assembly.
As period for submission of the nomination papers is over as the nomination papers of speaker and deputy speaker were to be submitted by 12 noon.
Assembly Secretary said that apart from captain (rtd) Abdul Khaliq and Ghazala Gola, no member has yet received and submitted nomination papers,
“Scrutiny of submitted nomination papers has started and the success of speaker and deputy speaker will be announced in the meeting at 3 pm,” Assembly Secretary said.

Quetta Presiding Officer (PO) Zumark Achakzai administered the oath from the Fifty-six newly elected lawmakers of the Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday.
Speaker Zumark Achakzai welcomed the new members and said he hoped that the new assembly will work together for the development of the province. “Together we have to take the province forward.”
Assembly staff ensured preparation for reception of the newly elected members.
Balochistan Assembly's inaugural session comes on the same day newly-elected members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly took of thier their office.

Total 5,026 polling stations were established across Balochistan, with 1,651 earmarked as most sensitive and 2,249 classified as sensitive, ensuring comprehensive coverage and accessibility for voters.
To ensure the seamless execution of the electoral process, a rigorous training program was conducted for 51,379 polling officers and other staff members involved.
