Bollywood star actor Shah Rukh Khan used his iconic dialogues to captive a full house at a global event in Dubai. But when asked whether he was interested in taking up a charismatic spy role, he said he didn’t think that he was the right match.
He further remarked: "I want to, but I am too short for it."
His signature humour was on display when asked if he would be interested in playing the adversary in a thriller espionage series, he replied: "I am the Baddie because I think I am brown enough."
The actor was speaking at the World Government Summit. The three-day event was attended by 25 heads of state, 140 governments, and more than 85 international organizations.
With 4,000 attendees, there were a significant amount of distinguished participants, including leaders and experts. During a conversation with famous journalist Richard Quest, Shah Rukh got candid about his dreams of films and roles. He further disclosed that he declined the quiz master position in the Oscar-nominated film 'Slum Dog Millionaire' because he believed it to be a conflict of interest.
"I worked quite closely with [director] Mr. [Danny] Boyle, while I was also hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati (Hindi adaptation of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire') at that time," he also remarked. "I was hosting the same program in real life, therefore I didn't think it was justified to play the part of a host."
Actor Anil Kapoor played that role quite beautifully, SRK said, and also acknowledged that he had never taken up a Hollywood film because no one offered him a significant role. “Nobody has ever offered me any crossover work of substance,” he said.
"I have held talks with people, but I still have to figure out how to be able to cater to the audience that likes me. If you have not been offered a job, how do you take it?"
