The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was looking to complete the required number of games for forming government.
In a bid to form the government post-elections, Shehbaz held a telephonic conversation with JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman for the second time within 24 hours.
On this occasion, Rehman expressed his reservations about the poll results.
In connection with the formation of the government, Rehman had asked Shehbaz Sharif to give some time for consultations with the party's central executive committee.
– PML-N, PPP resolve to extend political cooperation –
Earlier today, the PML-N and PPP expressed their resolve to extend political cooperation in a bid to stabilse the country.
The PML-N and PPP held talks officially for the first time in connection with the formation of the government. PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, along with the party delegation, reached Bilawal House.
PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif discussed the matter in line with the formation of the government.
The PPP leaders had told the PML-N that for making the decision in the formation of the government, the party had summoned the CEC meeting.
Among those who attended the meeting were Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Tanveer, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Malik Ahmed Khan, Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Shiza Fatima.
"The majority of the masses had voted for us. We will not disappoint the masses," the leadership stated.
