Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif lodged on Saturday formally challenged the election result of National Assembly constituency NA-15 Mansehra.
It is pertinent to mention that independent candidate Shehzad Muhammad Gashtasab Khan emerged victorious, securing 105,249 votes, as per the unofficial tally released by the Returning Officer/Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Nawaz Sharif trailed behind with 80,382 votes, according to the same unofficial count. Meanwhile, the voter turnout for NA-15 Mansehra/Torghar remained at 38.38 percent.
In an application filed with the Election Commission, Nawaz Sharif highlighted the logistical difficulties faced by many areas in Mansehra due to severe snowfall, leading to communication disruptions during the crucial election process.
Consequently, he asserted that the outcome of NA-15 should be withheld until the matter is thoroughly investigated and resolved.
