Pakistan cricketer Ahmad Shahzad played a brilliant 41-ball 66 knock to power Fortune Barishal to a comfortable 49-run victory against the Sylhet Strikers in Sylhet in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Tuesday.
SYLHET STRIKERS' INNINGS
Chasing a target of 187, the Strikers were bundled out for 137 in the 18th over.
With the exception of Zakir Hasan (46), Shamsur Rahman (25) and Benny Howell (24), no other batter could contribute with the bat for the strikers.
For Fortune Barishal, Mohammad Imran (4-29) spearheaded with the bowl, bagging four wickets.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (2-21) and Khaled Ahmed (2-29) grabbed two wickets apiece.
Akif Javed (1-22) took a scalp.
Dunith Wellalage (0-24) and Soumya Sarkar (0-8) remained wicketless.

After being put into bat, Fortune Barishal had put an insurmountable total on the board, scoring 186-5 in 20 overs as Ahmed Shahzad and Mahmudullah played brilliantly.
Shehzad’s innings were brilliantly built, studded with nine fours and two sixes, before he was undone by Benny Howell (3-21), who snared three wickets.
But Mahmudullah played a blinder, showing his experience by smoking an unbeaten 24-ball 51, lacing with seven boundaries and two towering sixes.
