Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif unveiling plan on Monday about South Punjab vowed to transform the region into ‘mini-Lahore’.
Addressing a public gathering in Rajanpur, the former premier asked the masses to support the PML-N in the upcoming elections on February 8, and pledged to bring prosperity to the region and secure a fourth term as prime minister.
PML-N top brass slated the tenure of the current Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, alleging that despite having resources, Buzdar failed to adequately serve the area.
During his impassioned speech, Shehbaz Sharif reminisced about his commitment to the people during times of crisis, particularly citing the flood situation.
Mr Shehbaz claimed to have worked tirelessly, personally overseeing the reconstruction of roads, educational institutions, and hospitals in Rajanpur.
Highlighting the establishment of a Danish School in the area, he reiterated Nawaz Sharif's vision for providing quality education to underprivileged children.
Shehbaz Sharif accused the current government of pushing the country backward, pointing to rising inflation and soaring fertilizer prices. Drawing a sharp contrast with the Nawaz Sharif era, he emphasized the need to return to policies that brought prosperity and employment opportunities to millions.
In a bid to secure support from Rajanpur, Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to establish an IT and Agriculture University in the region, demonstrating his commitment to advancing education and agricultural practices. Additionally, he pledged to grant district status to Jampur, further showcasing his dedication to local development.
