The vibrant city of Karachi recently played host to a landmark event with its first World Athletics-approved marathon, attracting over 1000 participants across various categories.
In the spotlight was Aamir Sohail, who emerged victorious in the gruelling 42.2-kilometer full marathon. Clocking in at an impressive 2 hours, 36 minutes, and 9 seconds, Sohail secured the top spot, with Israr Khatak and Aamer Abbas following closely in second and third positions.
The women's full marathon showcased Mahnoor's exceptional talent as she led the pack, demonstrating outstanding athletic prowess.

In the equally challenging 21.1-kilometer half-marathon, Hafiz-ul-Barkat claimed the first prize, completing the distance in an admirable 1 hour, 17 minutes, and 12 seconds. Akram and Zaher Shah secured second and third places, respectively.
The event, not limited to adults, saw enthusiastic participation from women and children in the marathon race, highlighting the inclusive nature of the sporting spectacle.
Cash prizes ranging from 500,000 to 10,000 rupees were announced for the deserving winners, adding an extra layer of excitement to the successful marathon event.
