As winter holds its grip, the Meteorological Department has forecasted rain for the last week of January, bringing potential relief to the dry weather.
Chief Meteorologist Chaudhry Aslam has warned of potential heavy fog during this period, shrouding the city in a blanket of mist. While it may disrupt some travel plans, the good news is that the increased humidity will help clear the air, reducing Lahore's notorious air pollution.
“The intensity of cold will increase further,” Aslam stated. “Prepare for frosty mornings and dress warmly, especially during the night and early hours.”
But there’s a silver lining to the chilly cloud cover. Aslam noted that the increase in fog, while potentially disrupting visibility, will also bring a temporary reprieve from Lahore's notorious air pollution.
"The thicker fog will act as a natural filter, trapping some of the pollutants and improving air quality," he explained.
