India’s Ministry of Religious Affairs (MEA) when asked about Pakistan strikes on terror camps in Iran, responded with, “No comment.”
The Hindu Diplomatic Affairs Editor Suhasini Haidar taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, posted that India’s MEA did not respond to questions when asked the same question about strikes in Iran.
The Indian journalist exposed the double standard of the Indian Foreign Office which launched a strong statement in favour of Iran when Tehran struck missiles in Panjgur in alleged terrorists’ hideouts. The claim turned out be completely false as two innocent children lost their lives and three others sustained injuries.
India backed Iran on its strikes on alleged terror camps in Pakistan’s Balochistan Province, calling it an act of “self-defense”. In a statement late on January 17, a day after Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)) fired missiles at what it said were two “important” bases of the Jaish al-Adl terror group in Balochistan Province, which triggered a strong diplomatic protest from Islamabad, the Ministry of External Affairs said that while the issue was a bilateral one between Iran and Pakistan, India has an “uncompromising” position on terrorism. Significantly, the MEA did not comment on Iran’s strikes against Kurdish areas in Iraq, as well as in Syria, all of which took place on the same day.
