An investigative committee completed the investigation report after three and half months into an eye injection scandal in Lahore.
In the investigation report, the allegations against drug controllers and government employees were proven.
The report was submitted to the caretaker Chief Minister Punjab.
The committee initiated action under the PEDA Act and gave the government employees involved time to submit their replies within seven days.
K-15 injection was used in private hospitals, all drug controllers failed to stop the use of injection within their limits. The injection continued to be transferred illegally from Lahore to other cities.
Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Genius Pharma company continued to produce the injections without a license.
The people who were affected by the eye injection were from different cities.
There were five from Kasur, four from Jhang, three from Rahim Yar Khan, three from Gujranwala, six from Khanewal, eight from Bahawalpur, 19 from Multan, 10 from Vehari, from Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Rajanpur there was a single citizen from these cities.
The involved government employees are given a deadline of seven days to submit their reply before the committee and it said: “If the employees fail to submit their replies then according to the PEDA Act they will be punished.”
