The members of the International Assistance Mission (IAM), a Swiss-registered non-governmental organization (NGO), has been detained by the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan.
The group said that 18 of its staff members, including a foreigner, were picked up from its office in Ghor province and taken to the capital Kabul.
On September 3, the Taliban detained two Afghan staff members and one US national from IAM's Ghor office. On September 13, they detained another 15 Afghan staff members from the same office.
The Taliban authorities have not commented on the matter.
IAM has operated in Afghanistan since 1966 and provides aid in the areas of health and education.
The group says that it does not discriminate based on political or religious belief.
The Taliban has imposed sweeping restrictions on the population since its return to power in August 2021, including barring women from working for NGOs and the United Nations.
Teenage girls and women are also banned from schools and universities.
