Comedian and former Daily Show host Trevor Noah had a close call this week when he was forced to jump into a fan's car to get to an interview on time.
Noah was due to appear on the 947 radio station in Johannesburg for a morning chat, but bad traffic and an argument between a bike and a taxi driver left him running late.
In a hilarious turn of events, Noah described his nightmare journey into the studio live on air. "There's a bicycle fighting with a taxi driver!" he shouted down a phone line to the show's hosts.
Realizing that he was running out of time, Noah decided to take matters into his own hands and jump into a fan's car. "I'm gonna get in with some guy," he said, before adding, "Can I just say, whoever is in this traffic, I feel you. We are together."
Noah's journey in the fan's car was not without its challenges, however.
At one point, the driver took him to the wrong building! But Noah eventually made it to the studio on time, where he was greeted with cheers from the audience.
In an interview after the show, Noah said that he was "just grateful to be here." He also praised the fan who helped him out, saying that he was a "legend".
