A magnitude-5.3 earthquake jolted Kermadec Islands, New Zealand on Saturday, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
The strongest recent earthquake of the past 10 years near Whangarei occurred on August 29.

It had a magnitude of 5.6 and struck 287 kilometers (178 mi) east-southeast of Whangarei, at a depth of 10 km.
