Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Friday urged the caretaker government to ensure transparent polls.
Expressing his thoughts, Mr Siddiqui said, "There is a dire need to hold elections on time as the census in the country has been completed." The assemblies had also completed their terms", he added.
He highlighted the significance of youth, saying, "MQM-P is having a youth leadership in Karachi. We have started our preparations in line with the elections. In some of the constituencies, the party has also decided the expected candidates".
Mr Siddiqui asserted that the MQM-P will not leave any of the "better candidates" in frustration.
Kundi calls for elections within 90 days
On the other side, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday reiterated the demand for holding the elections within 90 days.
Expressing his thoughts, Mr Kundi said, "The elections should be held on time. The PPP is ready for the polls. The PPP will win the next elections with the majority of the votes".Mr Kundi expressed his thoughts in line with the return of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif to the country. "We welcome the announcement by Nawaz Sharif regarding his return to the country," he added.
"Nawaz went abroad for his treatment from jail."He should consult the legal experts ahead of his return to the country".
Mr Kundi was of the view that it was the right of every political leader to run the election campaign for the party.
