The inspectors general of police (IGP) of all four provinces have asked the government for bullet-proof vehicles.
The Threat Assessment Committee has also recommended giving a bullet-proof vehicle to the Islamabad IGP.
According to sources, letters have been written to the federal government by the four provinces in connection with the bullet-proof vehicles for the police chiefs.
The Threat Assessment Committee also says that the Islamabad IGP is facing serious threats, and the federal police does not have a single bullet-proof vehicle.
According to sources, the Islamabad police chief has also received a direct threat over the repatriation of illegal foreigners living in Pakistan.
The committee has opposed providing police security to Shahzain Bugti, saying he did not face any threat in Islamabad.
