In a Pakistani village named Amazai – in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner area— residents pay only Rs 700 per month to have electricity all day and night, even as protests against high power bills and frequent power outages persist in various regions of the country.
Residents here are enjoying uninterrupted electricity for the unbelievably low cost of only Rs. 700 per month, thanks to the ingenuity of one local hero.
Bakht Zamin Shah, a devoted resident of Buner, took it upon himself to solve the long-standing electricity problem in his village.
Five years ago, he embarked on a mission to provide reliable power to the 350 households in Amazai.
His solution? The installation of a turbine that has since been supplying electricity round the clock.
Bakht Zamin Shah, the visionary behind this electrifying initiative, shared, "We started this powerhouse four years ago, and it has been providing electricity to 350 homes at an affordable rate of 700 rupees per month.
This 220-volt electricity runs 24 hours a day, meeting all household needs, including running appliances like irons, heaters, water motors, and washing machines. We even provide free electricity to impoverished families and support around eight mosques in the area."
The impact of this ingenious project has been transformational for Amazi Village.
With consistent access to electricity at their disposal, residents no longer have to endure the hardships of load-shedding. The 220-volt power output from the turbine easily powers all domestic appliances, making daily life significantly more comfortable and convenient.
Load-shedding has long been a source of frustration for people across Pakistan, particularly in rural areas.
