Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday awarded the party ticket to former National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq from NA-121 Lahore ahead of the upcoming general elections in the country.
The PML-N leader had also confirmed the news of getting a ticket from NA-121. On this occasion, Sadiq said, “Some of the friends were saying that I would not get a ticket. The party's top brass had assured me that I would contest the election from NA-121.”
For the sake of getting the ticket, Ayaz Sadiq and another PML-N senior leader, Sheikh Rohail Asghar, were locking horns.
Asghar had also called on the PML-N bigwigs in a bid to get the party ticket.
– Seasoned politician Faisal Saleh Hayat joins PML-N –
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat joined on Wednesday the PML-N ahead of the general elections.
The development came after PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Shah Jewana and paid homage to Hazrat Shah Jewana. On this occasion, Hayat welcomed Shehbaz Sharif with great verve.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said: “I would like to express my gratitude to Faisal Saleh Hayat for the core of my heart for accepting my invitation to join the PML-N. The inclusion of Faisal Saleh Hayat will strengthen the PML-N.”
