A judge of the Islamabad High Court has instructed the Islamabad police not to treat the Baloch as enemies.
Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb made these remarks while hearing a petition against the arrests of Baloch protesters and the denial of their right to protest.
The court ordered the identification parade of 34 arrested protesters today and adjourned the hearing of the case till December 29.
The petitioner's lawyer told the court that the Baloch protesters were arrested when they were marching on Islamabad.
Justice Aurangzeb inquired from the SSP (operations) if he ordered dealing with the Baloch protesters severely. “You make some sit in your laps, while you treat others this way. They have come to Islamabad; let them protest,” the judge remarked.
The petitioner's lawyer said that 34 arrested protesters were still in jail and their identity parade was yet to take place.
Justice Aurangzeb told the SSP (operations) that if he could not do anything, the court could summon the interior secretary.
“You should not treat them as enemies,” the judge remarked.
The court ordered the identification parade of 34 protesters today and postponed the hearing till December 29.
