The capital city of India was rocked by a bomb blast scare near the Israel embassy in the Chanakyapuri area today.
Meanwhile, the Delhi police swiftly responded to a distress call and have begun an investigation into the matter. Atul Garg, Director of Delhi Fire Services, stated, "So far, nothing has been found at the location."
The Israeli embassy's spokesperson confirmed the incident, acknowledging a loud blast in the vicinity. "Yes, there was an incident. We are not sure what it is exactly yet... the police and our security team are investigating the matter," the spokesperson told reporters.
Fortunately, the Israeli foreign ministry has reported that no embassy staff were harmed during the incident. Both Indian and Israeli agencies are collaborating closely to probe the matter and ensure the safety of diplomatic missions.
This alarming incident follows closely on the heels of a bomb scare in Mumbai earlier today. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) received a threatening email outlining a plan to detonate 11 bombs across the financial capital. Prominent banks, including HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, were listed as potential targets. The sender also demanded the resignation of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.
Mumbai Police, responding promptly to the gravity of the situation, initiated a thorough investigation, deploying officers to the specified locations mentioned in the threatening email. Despite the urgency and severity of the situation, no evidence of explosive devices was found during the extensive search.
The authorities in both cities are on high alert, emphasising the need for heightened security measures in the wake of these incidents. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
