A coordinated repatriation effort is currently in progress for Afghan nationals residing illegally in various cities across the country.
Official records indicate that on the 12th of December, an additional 2,023 Afghan nationals voluntarily returned to their homeland.
This included 536 men, 412 women, and 175 children in Afghan cities. The repatriation process involved 93 vehicles transporting 182 families to Afghanistan.

It is noteworthy that prior to the official announcement by the Pakistani government, a substantial number of illegal Afghan residents had been returning to Afghanistan, driven by concerns about potential arrests.
As of the 11th of December, official statistics reveal that a total of 426,865 Afghan nationals have voluntarily repatriated.
Karachi, akin to other regions, had a significant population of individuals residing illegally. Issues such as smuggling and extortion were prevalent due to the presence of illegal foreign nationals.
However, there is assurance in the collaborative efforts of the Pakistani government and military leadership, which are effectively facilitating the evacuation of illegal individuals from the country.
