Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira claimed on Sunday that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif was "receiving favours" before his return from London.
Speaking to media in Mandi Bahauddin, the PPP stalwart said that no political party should be debarred from politics "forcefully". “Every political party should get the right to stage politics. The PPP and others are complaining about the level-playing field,” he added.
Speaking about the possibility of seat adjustment with any political party, Kaira said: “The PPP is not going to opt for seat adjustment with any political party.”
Underscoring the importance of taking the masses on board, he asserted, “The PPP has never taken anybody's support, but the masses.”
“It should be up to the courts to deliver verdicts. If anyone has violated the law, then that person should be held accountable in a transparent procedure,” Kaira said.
– PPP gears up for elections –
Bhutto-Zardari said today that his party was geared up for the upcoming elections, irrespective of whether other political parties were ready or not.
Addressing the workers’ convention in Kohat, the former foreign minister lashed out at the political opponents, saying, “One person is desperate to contest elections in a bid to get rid of jail. Another person wants to take part in polls to avert arrest.”

Bhutto-Zardari ensured that his party will serve the people if voted into power. “We will ensure to create employment opportunities for our people worldwide. We will make all-out efforts to provide the masses with their fundamental rights,” he said.
He claimed that the masses were still standing by the PPP, adding that the party leadership will continue to maintain its connection with the people.
Bhutto-Zardari asserted, “The PPP represents the people in general, not the elites.”
"The PPP workers have proved that the party’s entity is very much existing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The PPP was asked not to stage the conventions in KP, citing security concerns. It was also said that the decision had been made to appoint somebody as the new chief minister of the province,” he stated.
