Quetta Gladiators on Wednesday appointed former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson as their head coach for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Gladiators' owner, Nadeem Omar, team director Moin Khan, and the rest of the management had decided to appoint Watson as the coach.
Watson had been familiar with the PSL as he had been a part of Islamabad United and the Gladiators as well.

Expressing his thoughts, Omar said, “Shane Watson had played an important role in the Gladiators’ victories in the past.”

He expressed confidence in Watson’s appointment as the coach. “I am hopeful that the players will utilise the experience of Watson.”
Watson had compiled 8821 runs and scooped up 216 wickets in 343 T20s. He was also part of the squads that did wonders in the World Cups in 2007 and 2015, respectively.
