In a post on social media platform X, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to swiftly issue a certificate recognizing party's recent intra-party elections.
This move, Khan believes, is crucial as the announcement of the general election schedule is expected any moment.
"All necessary documents pertaining to our intra-party elections have been submitted to the ECP today," Gohar Ali Khan wrote on X.
"With the general election schedule likely to be announced soon, the ECP must publish our certificate without delay."
All required documents of Intra-party elections were filed before ECP today. As General Election schedule is to be announced anytime soon. ECP ought to publish our certificate at the earliest this time.

This statement comes after the ECP previously withheld PTI's certificate, citing concerns about the transparency and fairness of their internal polls.
On Saturday, PTI lawyer Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was elected unopposed as the party’s new chairman, replacing incarcerated chief Imran Khan.
Former minister Omar Ayub Khan was elected as the central secretary general of the party.
These names were announced by PTI Election Commissioner Niazullah Niazi on Saturday morning as the party conducted its intra-party elections on the orders of the ECP.
He also announced that all the candidates and panels have been elected unopposed.
