Billie Eilish, the 20-year-old singer known for hits like "Bad Guy" and "Happier Than Ever," recently shared her thoughts on her queer identity during an interview with Variety.
Eilish expressed that she thought her attraction to women was quite evident and that she was surprised that others were unaware.
In an interview with Variety last month, Eilish publicly acknowledged her queer identity for the first time. While her comments about "coming out" have received widespread attention, the singer maintains that she wasn't attempting to make a grand announcement.
"I don't really believe in the concept of 'coming out,'" she explained. "I just think we should be able to exist freely without labels or announcements. I've been attracted to women for a long time, but I simply never talked about it publicly."
In the initial Variety interview, Eilish opened up about her past struggles in relating to other women due to both intimidation and attraction.
"I've never felt like I could fully connect with other women," she confessed. "I love them dearly, both as individuals and as people I'm attracted to. My attraction to women is genuine and undeniable."
Over the years, Eilish has been romantically linked to several individuals, including rapper Brandon Adams, aka 7AMP, whose relationship with her is documented in the film Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry.
She also recently ended a relationship with Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood in May.
