Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar swiftly reversed a controversial appointment of Salman Butt within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Selection Committee.
The decision came following the prime minister's directive in his role as the patron-in-chief of PCB. A press release from the PM Office Media Wing on Saturday highlighted the prime minister's serious concern over the appointment of Salman Butt, a controversial former cricket player.
Acknowledging the wealth of cricketing talent in Pakistan, the caretaker prime minister stressed the necessity of maintaining a selection committee devoid of controversy, especially in the realm of cricket, the nation's most popular and cherished sport.
