Securing a decisive nine-wicket victory over Rwanda in an African qualifier on Thursday, Uganda successfully clinched their spot at the T20 World Cup scheduled for the West Indies and the United States next year.
Despite Zimbabwe's win against Kenya in the same qualifiers, they missed out on qualification. Uganda, the latest addition to the 20 teams participating, joins Namibia, who had previously secured their place in the World Cup earlier in the week.
This historic qualification marks Uganda's debut in an ICC World Cup, making them the fifth African nation to feature in a T20 World Cup.
