Barrister Gohar Khan has resigned from his position as the Chief Election Commissioner of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The decision comes amid ongoing preparations for the party's intra-party elections scheduled to take place on Saturday.
Senior lawyer Niazullah Niazi has been appointed as the new chief election commissioner of PTI.
