Former Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim has signed up with the Melbourne Stars, a franchise of the Australian men's professional club Twenty20 cricket league, the Big Bash League.
Imad, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, will be available to the Melbourne Stars from December 25 onwards for the remaining part of the tournament.

The franchise’s general manager said he was excited to see the Pakistani fans of the Melbourne Stars. He added that Pakistani fans will get to see Imad Wasim joining his former teammates Osama Mir and Haris Rauf.
"With Liam available for the first three matches, we identified Imad as a player who could come in and perform a role for us with his left arm spin and lengthen our batting lineup," according to Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.

Having played 121 T20 and one-day international matches for Pakistan, Imad will contribute a huge amount of experience as well as handy lower order batting to complement his left arm orthodox bowling.
Crouch said he was looking forward to seeing lots of Pakistan fans in the crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground with Imad joining his former national teammates, Mir and Rauf.
Just a couple of days ago, Wasim had unexpectedly bid farewell to the Karachi Kings team that he was leading as the captain, marking a significant change ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9.

Consequently, Karachi Kings will see a new skipper for PSL 9, with Imad Wasim no longer at the helm. The seasoned all-rounder has moved on to Islamabad United. Notably, Imad will be stepping into the role previously held by Hasan Ali within the Islamabad United set-up.
