Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to lift the penalty imposed on batter Azam Khan for displaying the Palestinian flag on his bat during the National T20 Cup. The PCB had initially fined Azam Khan 50% of his match fee for this act.
Azam Khan, representing Karachi Whites in the National T20, had pasted a sticker of the Palestinian flag on his bat, drawing attention and commendation for his solidarity with Palestine.
However, the cricket board had taken issue with this display, citing a violation of PCB regulations.
According to PCB rules, any player, official, or team must seek permission from the board before displaying symbols during matches.
The PCB had stated that Azam Khan's action amounted to a breach of these regulations, leading to the imposition of the 50% match fee fine.
