The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee has released a statement following their meeting, addressing various issues and concerns.
One of the key points discussed was the condemnation of the incident where Bushra Bibi's car was surrounded outside Adiala Jail, and individuals were seen shouting slogans.
The committee strongly criticized such actions, highlighting them as reflective of the practices of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), emphasizing that targeting political opponents and harassing their women is not acceptable.
During the meeting, there was a discussion about holding intra-party elections within the timeframe specified by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The committee approved the schedule for PTI’s intra-party elections and deliberated on the prevailing political situation, organizational activities, and ongoing cases against party members.
Particularly noteworthy was the committee’s condemnation of the arrest of PTI’s Senior Vice President in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Akbar. The committee demanded his immediate release and reiterated the call for foolproof security arrangements for Chairman PTI Imran Khan’s court appearances.
The PTI core committee expressed its commitment to democratic processes within the party and emphasized the importance of upholding democratic values in all aspects of political engagement. The committee’s decisions and statements reflect the ongoing efforts within PTI to navigate and address challenges while remaining committed to democratic principles.
