Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser was rearrested from Charsadda in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) after getting bail in a corruption case earlier in the day.
He was rearrested from outside Swabi Jail.
Peviously, an anti-corruption court in Abbottabad granted bail to PTI leader.
Asad Qaiser, who is accused of corruption in the procurement of equipment for Gajju Khan Medical College, was arrested from Bani Gala, Islamabad, on November 3.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) registered a case against him for his alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds during the purchase of medical equipment for Swabi's Gajju Khan Medical College.
The FIR stated that Asad Qaiser, along with four employees of the health department, incurred a loss of millions of rupees to the treasury through corruption in the procurement of equipment for the GKMC during the previous PTI government's tenure.
The former NA speaker served two terms in each of the National Assembly and provincial assembly constituencies.
Following the 2013 general elections, he ascended to the position of speaker of the provincial assembly. His victory in the 2018 polls propelled him to the office of the NA speaker.
