Sindh has reported the province’s first death of the current year. The provincial health department confirmed the death in the Tharparkar area.
On the other hand, the province has also reported a steady rise in the cases of dengue fever.
According to the Sindh Health Department, 186 cases of malaria were reported in Tharparkar in one day.
During the last 24 hours, 4,608 cases of malaria have been reported across Sindh out of which 32 cases were reported in Karachi.
Moreover, this year, 301,353 cases of malaria have been reported in Sindh, the health department said. Out of these, most cases were being reported from interior Sindh.
Meanwhile, Sindh also reported 13 cases of dengue fever during the last 24 hours, out of these 12 cases were reported in Karachi and one from Hyderabad.
This year, Karachi has reported 900 dengue cases, while the number of cases across the province has been 1,068.
August saw a concerning rise in dengue cases across Sindh, totaling 183. Karachi bore the maximum brunt with 148 cases, followed by Hyderabad with 27. Additionally, both Mirpurkhas and Sukkur reported three cases each, with Larkana confirming one case.
Regarding the affected districts, East Karachi was a hotspot with a staggering 82 cases, South Karachi followed with 23 cases, Central Karachi 21, and Malir district seven. Korangi and Kemari districts saw seven and four cases respectively, while the Western district had registered seven cases.
